The arrival of the Tour de France 2024 in Nice in July 2024: for the first time in its history, the Tour de France will end in a place other than Paris. Indeed, the arrival of the race will be on the mythical Promenade des Anglais in Nice on 21 July. Stage number 20 (the day before the arrival of the Tour de France) will begin from Nice to Col de la Couillole via the Turini and Colmiane passes. The resort’s longest ski run is 9.150m long and surrounded by all “Melèzes” trees and the high summit of the Ecrins National Park. 4102m and 3986m are the highest points! Orcières

New for 23-24  -The 1st open-air art gallery: ‘Large Format’ photography exhibition on skis!

The resort is organising its 1st photography exhibition on skis. It is an open-air photography trail featuring large format photographs from different photographers that will be on exhibit for one year. The photos will be displayed in different places in the Orcières ski area, as the 2 panoramic terraces at Py Marty and Les Sirènes (can be reached on skis). The exhibition showcases the artworks in this fantastic natural high alpine environment, providing an original way to travel around and really embrace your experience in the mountains.

Serre Chevalier

Serre Chevalier is one of the biggest ski areas in Europe, with nearly 250 km of slopes offering varied skiing between the altitude and larch forests. 80 % of slopes are above 2000 meters of altitude, ensuring excellent snow conditions throughout the winter season.

Serre Chevalier ski resort extends for 15km along the valley including 3 charming villages and a town of Briançon. More than just a ski resort, the history of the place is fully expressed in Briançon, labelled as a town of art and history, and whose fortifications are classified as a UNESCO world heritage site. Located only 135 km from the Torino Caselle airport, regular shuttle services between Serre Chevalier and the airport will be available again from next winter.

New for 2023/24

Les Chalets du Grand Hôtel – opening Christmas 2023. The Ultimate experience, this new residence of 21 prestigious apartments, conceived and designed by the internationally renowned architect and urban planner Jean-Michel Wilmotte and interior design by Olivier Frémont, connects directly to the Grand Hôtel**** and benefits from all the advantages and services (restaurants, bar, spa, ski shop, etc…). Perfect location for this residence situated at about 50 meters from the lift.

Pontillas cable car – opening Christmas 2023. A brand new gondola will very soon replace the current Pontillas cable car in the Villeneuve area, arriving at an altitude of over 2000m. With a capacity of 10 seats and a throughput of 2800 p/h, the new Pontillas cable car will improve the access to Méa/Clot sector, its beginner’s area and the new BBQ area at an altitude of 2255m.

New BBQ area in Méa/Clot sector. A brand new picnic area is to be built in the Clot/Méa sector, close to the arrival point of the new Pontillas cable car. This will bring the total number of picnic areas with free access to planchas, picnic tables and deckchairs to four. Each of the picnic areas offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding peaks, so you can enjoy a tasty break to recharge your batteries, share convivial moments with friends or capture some majestic mountain scenery!
